White County listeners will soon have a new voice helping them start their mornings.
Beginning Monday, June 29, 92.7 YERT FM will launch The Paxton Elmore Show, a live weekday morning program airing Monday through Friday from 6-9 a.m.
Elmore, who many local sports fans already know as the Voice of the Warriors on WCHS broadcasts, said he can't wait to bring a dedicated morning show back to local radio and connect with listeners throughout White County.
“I’m very excited to bring a morning show to White County,” Elmore said. “I know that our stations in Sparta have been missing a DJ for a while, and I’m glad to be the one to be at the helm of it along with calling WCHS sports on 92.7.”

For Elmore, the morning hours represent one of the most important parts of the radio day. Whether listeners are driving to work, getting children ready for school, or tuning in through the Main Street Media app while making breakfast at home, he wants the show to be part of their daily routine.
“A morning show is important in radio because we are the first thing you hear in your car in the morning while you head out to start your day or when you go on your Main Street Media app at the house packing lunches or cooking breakfast,” Elmore said. “It’s important to me to make sure the people of White County start their day right with their favorite music and hear important and fun stuff that's going on.”
The show will feature a mix of music, local news and information, community happenings, entertainment topics and sports coverage. Elmore said he plans to focus heavily on what is happening in Sparta and White County while also keeping listeners informed about events and stories from across Tennessee.
“Besides the great music they'll be hearing, we're mainly gonna talk about what's happening locally in Sparta and even see what's happening around the state as well,” Elmore said. “We're also gonna have fun talking about fun things that's happening in the entertainment and sports world and dive deeper into some of the music you're gonna hear.”
Sports fans can also look forward to expanded Warrior coverage once the school year begins. Elmore said August will feature a dedicated hour each day focused on WCHS athletics as fall sports get underway.
The opportunity to continue serving White County is something Elmore said means a great deal to him.
“Anytime I get to work on something that has to do with Sparta or White County, I get excited because it's starting to become my favorite part of my job,” Elmore said. “I'm always going to have a huge soft spot in my heart for this place, and I can't wait for people to hear The Paxton Elmore Show.”
Listeners can tune in beginning June 29 on 92.7 YERT FM or stream the station through the Main Street Media app.
