Barbara Ann Elrod, 78

Barbara Ann Elrod, 78, of Morrison, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Ms. Elrod was born in McMinnville on Aug. 3, 1947, to her late parents Vester Bryton and Mary Christine Southard Kelsey. Barbara was a member of the Smartt Assembly of God.  She worked for 42 years as a hairdresser where she enjoyed doing hair and talking with clients, many of whom became good friends.  In her early years, she loved vegetable and flower gardening, sewing and needlework, and decorating beautiful and tasty cakes.  More recently, her favorite pastime was spending time with her precious grandsons camping and fishing in the creek.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 4 brothers, Stanley, Don, Robert, and Larry Kelsey.

She is survived by her companion Charles Hefner, son Steven (Mindi) Elrod, her precious grandsons, Gabriel and Lukas Elrod, brother Campbell Kelsey (Offie Barnes), sister Phyllis (Jerry) Barnes, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Barbara will be held at McMinnville Funeral Home Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, April 24, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Friday, April 24, 2026, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eugene Green officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
