In a true testament to the versatility of the Park Theater, less than 24 hours after Young Men United held a gospel celebration in the historic hall Friday night, “Hell’s Bells“ rung out Saturday.

Big/Gun the AC/DC Tribute came back in black, returning to the Park after an appearance in 2023. An eager audience of over 300 arrived ready to rock sporting a wide assortment of vintage AC/DC T-shirts and rocking light-up devil horns.

The band kicked things off with “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be” and never let up, ripping through an ear-splitting and crowd-pleasing set that included legendary hits like “Thunderstruck,” “Dirty Deeds,” “Back in Black,” “You Shook Me All Night Long,” “Hell’s Bells,” “Big Balls,” “Highway to Hell” and many more before wrapping up with “For Those About to Rock (We Salute You).”

“The streets and parking lots were packed tonight with multiple events happening in the area, including our show, and we’re just so thankful for a vibrant and inviting downtown community where folks can visit, eat, shop and just enjoy,” Park Theater Assistant Manager Ashley Gillentine Wright said. “We had several people come in tonight raving about the local restaurants and beautiful downtown fall scenery. We appreciate everyone who chose to come enjoy an evening at the Park.”

The emcee for the evening was the Main Street Journal’s Rob Nunley, co-host of WBMC’s Town Talk with Raven and Rob.
