Blood Assurance offers $40 e-gift cards to donors

As patriotism runs high during the Fourth of July holiday, blood supplies are running low.

Blood Assurance is asking the public to celebrate independence by giving back to the community and helping replenish the blood supply which is used locally to help trauma patients, cancer patients, premature babies and others in need of blood. To further appeal to potential donors, Blood Assurance is offering a $40 e-gift card to all who give blood through July 7.

There will be two opportunities to take advantage of the e-gift card offer with Blood Assurance blood drives scheduled Thursday, July 2 at Main Street Media, 230 W. Colville St. from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and at Walmart from 10 a.m. - 2 :30 p.m. Friday, July 3.

Donors are advised to eat a good meal, drink additional water and avoid energy drinks before giving blood. Appointments can be made online, by calling 800 962-0628 or texting BAGIVE to 999777. Walk-ins are also welcome.
