Blood drive set for Tuesday

Main Street Media in McMinnville will host a community blood drive with Blood Assurance on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 230 W. Colville Street.

The event comes at a crucial time, with O Negative supplies down to just 2.5 days and B Negative at half a day statewide. Blood donations are a lifeline for accident victims, cancer patients, and those undergoing surgery, and one donation has the potential to save up to three lives.

Beyond helping patients in need, donating blood also provides health benefits to donors by promoting cardiovascular wellness and encouraging regular health checks. Every pint collected strengthens the region’s ability to respond to emergencies and ensures hospitals have the resources they need.

As a thank-you from Blood Assurance, donors will receive a $20 e-gift card, while O Negative donors will receive $25. Appointments can be scheduled online, but walk-ins are welcome for this vital cause.
