Nashville, TN - The Tennessee Department of Correction is investigating the death of inmate Reginald Steed #472318 at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution. Steed was pronounced dead at 12:40 AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Reginald Steed was serving a 27-year sentence for Aggravated Assault, Especially Aggravated Robbery, and Attempted Voluntary Manslaughter. He was also charged with the first-degree murder of Correctional Officer Dustin Pedigo, who was killed at the Morgan County Correctional Complex on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
