McMinnville resident and Warren County native Charles Emory Boyd, 88, was born Aug. 4, 1938 and died Aug. 29, 2026 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness.
A United States Army veteran, retired painter of Yorozu Manufacturing and a member of North Hills Church of God of Prophecy, he was the son of the late Homer and Lula Mae Ramsey Boyd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis League; son, Chris Boyd and grandson, Jamaine B.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his children, Charlie (Deanna) Boyd, Stan Boyd and Laveda (Nick) Bryan all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Brandon (Katrina) Boyd, Kristyne Boyd, Jalen Boyd, Keyonna Bryan and Woogs Bryan; great-grandchildren, Makenzi, Jacob, Anaya, Kemonnie and Xavier and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026 in High’s Chapel with Brother Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
Full military honors will be administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
