The Jan. 5–9 stretch may have been the most revealing week of the season so far in Warren County 6–8 grade boys basketball. Rivalries tightened the standings at the top, contenders flexed their depth and several teams delivered defining performances that reshaped momentum heading deeper into January. From one-possession classics to emphatic statement wins, this week showed both how narrow the margins are - and how quickly a game can tilt when the right player takes over.
Centertown and Dibrell continued trading heavyweight blows at the top of the standings, Morrison showed it can score in waves, and Boyd, Eastside and Irving College all leaned on cornerstone pieces to stay competitive in difficult matchups. These Players of the Week reflect not just box-score production, but players who shaped outcomes, set tones and answered the moment when games demanded it.

BOYD – NOLAN KEELE
Keele continued to grow into a bigger role for the Broncos during the Jan. 5–9 stretch, leading Boyd with eight points against Morrison while battling inside against bigger defenders. The rugged wing consistently embraces contact, rebounds in traffic and does the work that keeps Boyd competitive even in tough matchups.

CENTERTOWN – LAWSON DENNING
Denning anchored the Warriors in another classic against Dibrell, scoring 13 points and powering a late fourth-quarter charge that nearly flipped the game. His physical presence in the paint and ability to finish through contact remain central to Centertown’s success at the top of the standings.

DIBRELL – JULLIAN TORRES
Torres delivered steady production in Dibrell’s biggest moments of the week, leading the Wildcats with 14 points in their narrow win over Centertown and continuing to impact the game on both ends. His interior scoring, rebounding and composure late were key as Dibrell stayed locked in a tie atop the league.

EASTSIDE – LANDON JORDON
Jordon turned in a breakout performance against Morrison, pouring in 17 points and leading all Bulldog scorers against one of the league’s deepest teams. His aggressiveness and willingness to attack stood out during a challenging matchup.

IRVING COLLEGE – DAKOTA LOCKEMY
Lockemy powered Irving College to its first win of the season with a 17-point effort against Eastside, using strength and patience in the post to control the game. He continues to be the Tigers’ most reliable interior presence.

MORRISON – WESTON MURPHY
Murphy remained red-hot, scoring 21 points in Morrison’s win over Eastside while continuing to set the tone offensively for the Eagles. His ability to score in bunches and take over stretches has kept Morrison firmly in the title conversation.
