Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster to Read Declaration of Independence on Courthouse Steps Wednesday, July 8th at 6 p.m.

On July 8, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was read aloud to the public for the very first time.

In honor of that first public reading, Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster will read the Declaration in its entirety Wednesday, July 8^th on the front steps of the historic courthouse beginning at 6 p.m..

Everyone is encouraged to attend as America’s 250^th celebration continues.
