Cumberland County's September Unemployment Rate Falls Slightly

Cumberland County’s September unemployment rate fell to 3.8%, down 0.3% from August’s rate of 4.1%, and a 0.5% drop from the same time last year.

Jobless rates fell in all of Tennessee’s 95 counties in September.

Williamson, Cheatham, Sevier, Trousdale, Macon, Wilson, Rutherford, and Dickson recorded the state’s lowest unemployment rates for September at 2.7%.

Bledsoe and Sumner counties rounded out the list of the 10 lowest unemployment rates in the state at 2.8%.

Perry County posted the state’s highest unemployment rate for the month at 5.1%.

For the third month in a row, the state unemployment rate was 3.4%, well below the national average of 4.2%.
