Spencer resident and Dunlap native Donnie Lloyd Markum, 87, was born Aug. 30, 1939 and died Oct. 5, 2026 at his residence following a sudden illness.
A United States Air Force veteran and former tool maker with Boeing Aircraft, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Edna Lee Snipes Markum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son-in-law, Gary Whitman; step-sons, Omey Ray Medley and James Randall Medley and step-daughter, Angie Faye Campbell.
Mr. Markum is survived by his significant other, Helen Medley of Spencer; step-children, Cynthia Louis Whitman and Mark Anthony (Debbie) Medley; grandchildren, Stanley Eugene (Stacey) Campbell, Brian Christopher (Cady) Campbell and Ashley, Whitman; great-grandchildren, Logan & Morgan Campbell, David, Carleigh, Caroline and Camryn Young and Allie Campbell; nephews, Jonathan and David Markum as well as two nieces.
Graveside service and interment will be noon Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026 at Walling Cemetery in Van Buren County with Doug Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Mooneyham Church of God in Spencer and Thursday from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the church.
Full Military Honors will be administered by the Veterans Honor Guard of the Upper Cumberland.
