My name is Jonathon Howard, and I’m running for White County Commission, District 7. I’m a machinist by trade and, like a lot of folks here, I spend my free time split between the outdoors and a few more low-key hobbies. At the end of the day, I consider myself just a regular guy who cares about where I live.

I was raised on the same farm my family settled and homesteaded generations ago, and I still call it home today. That kind of history gives you a different perspective. It’s not just land—it’s part of who you are. That connection is a big reason I decided to run.

Over the years, I’ve watched our community and our country change quickly. My biggest concern is making sure we don’t lose what makes this place special. I want to help preserve our culture and way of life while also building a stronger sense of community—especially for younger generations who seem more disconnected than ever.

I’m not a career politician, and I don’t claim to have all the answers. But I do believe in showing up, listening, and doing what’s right for the people of White County. That’s the kind of leadership I hope to bring if elected.
