The Warren County Health Department will participate in the Tennessee Department of Health’s annual “Fight Flu TN” campaign by offering free flu shots to the public on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The local health department, located at 1401 Sparta St. in McMinnville, will provide vaccinations at no cost and with no appointment required. The statewide event is part of a coordinated effort to protect communities across Tennessee from the seasonal flu and reduce the strain on healthcare systems during colder months.

Each year, “Fight Flu TN” brings together county health departments and community partners to make flu prevention accessible to everyone. Health officials emphasize that the flu shot is the best way to prevent serious illness, hospitalizations, and missed work or school due to influenza. Vaccines are recommended for everyone six months and older, especially for individuals at higher risk such as young children, older adults, and those with chronic health conditions.

Local leaders encourage residents to take advantage of the event and help keep Warren County healthy heading into the winter season. Flu vaccinations remain an important part of overall public health and community preparedness, particularly as viruses continue to circulate alongside other respiratory illnesses.
