The Main Street Journal was on the scene Friday afternoon on Holcomb Rd. in the Lucky community, where officers with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office were investigating a suspicious death.

At approximately 4:10 p.m. Friday, a call came in to police dispatch reporting a suspected homicide. The caller told dispatchers a body could be found in a trailer located in the forest behind a home at 1855 Holcomb Rd.

Deputies from the WCSO responded to the scene, along with Warren County EMS personnel who were told to stand by until the area was cleared by officers. After EMS was allowed to approach the property, more WCSO investigators arrived at the site, including Spencer Pryor, Chief Investigator Jason Rowland, Major Brandon Reed and Sheriff Jackie Matheny. Investigators from the 31st District Attorney General’s office also were on scene to aid in the investigation.

Officers blocked Holcomb Rd. at its closest intersections, and the road had not yet been cleared as of 7 p.m. Friday, when Matheny responded to the Journal’s request for information.

At present, all Matheny was able to confirm was a deceased person had been found on the property, and there were indications that made the death seem suspicious. Several people at the property were being interviewed by investigators, but – as these are the early stages of an ongoing investigation – no other details are being revealed at this time.

The Main Street Journal will stay up to date, and provide more details on the investigation into this incident, as it unfolds.
