Fans of gospel music and Elvis Presley alike got a treat Friday night at the Park Theater as gospel legend Terry Blackwood and The Imperials took the stage.

Blackwood, whose father, uncles and cousin comprised the iconic Blackwood brothers Quartet, made a name for himself as a member of The Imperials, who worked with Elvis from 1966 to 1971.

Blackwood, accompanied at Friday’s show by Johnny Minick and Jamie Parker, regaled the crowd with stories of working with Elvis before doing a medley of some of the biggest Elvis songs he worked with Elvis on.

Throughout the night, Blackwood and The Imperials delivered a lineup of classic gospel songs as well as fielding several requests from the crowd.

Songs performed included such classics as “This Train,” “Bosom of Abraham,” “I Believe,” “Peace in the Valley,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Sweet Jesus,” “Lead Me,” “Sweet Spirit,” “He Touched Me,” “Oh Happy Day” and many others.

The emcee for the evening was Main Street Media’s Justin Reed who previously interviewed Blackwood on WOW Country’s “The Justin Reed Show.”
