Spencer resident and Painesville, Ohio native James William “Bimbo” Sullivan, Jr., 71, was born July 19, 1955 and died Aug. 27, 2026 at his residence following a sudden illness.

A unit manager with Bledsoe County Correctional Complex and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late James William and Willie Louise Blaylock Sullivan, Sr.

“Bimbo” was married to Melanie Fann Sullivan of Spencer on Aug. 25, 2025. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Adam Wade Burgess of Spencer; sister, Melody Nunley of Rock Island; nephews, Brandon (Lindsey) Nunley of Rock Island and Randy Sullivan of Spencer; special friend, Vanessa Burgess of Crossville; niece, Brandy Cagle of Crossville; step sons, Brian (Teribeth) Ballew of Rock Island and Justin (Angelina) Ballew of Ewing, Virginia; step-grandchildren, Skylar (Andrea) Ballew, Lacy (Lee) Mitchell, Ayden and Brylee Ballew and Karagan Markey; great- nephews, Sagan and Wilder Sullivan; great-nieces, Breelyn and Bristol and special friend, Brenda Martin.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026 in High’s Chapel with Eugene Wilkerson and Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until time of service at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
