Golfers from across the area will once again hit the links next month to support one of Warren County’s longest-running community service organizations.

The Warren County Lions Club is preparing for its 14th Annual Two-Person Scramble Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, June 13 at WillowBrook Golf Club in Manchester. The annual fundraiser is held in memory of Past Council Chair Bob Davenport and serves as the club’s largest fundraising event of the year.

Lunch will be served at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. tee time. Entry is $100 per player and includes lunch, two mulligans and two red tees.

Tournament proceeds help fund the Lions Club’s many local service projects, including assistance for residents in need of eyeglasses and hearing aids, vision screenings for Pre-K and Kindergarten students, and support programs promoting literacy, citizenship and youth leadership.

The club also contributes to organizations such as the Tennessee School for the Blind and Tennessee School for the Deaf, while partnering locally with programs like the Leo Club at Centertown Elementary School and the Fire Pup initiative.

Known internationally for the motto “We Serve,” Lions Clubs International is one of the world’s largest service organizations, with clubs supporting humanitarian causes in communities around the globe. Local members say the annual golf tournament plays a major role in allowing the Warren County chapter to continue its outreach efforts throughout the year.

Organizers encourage both competitive golfers and casual players to participate, noting the event combines fellowship, friendly competition and community service in one afternoon.
