There will be no shortage of candy in Crossville this Halloween, but the Main Street Journal plans to sweeten the deal with a prize that won't fit in a trick-or-treat bag.

Main Street Media will host its annual Trick or Treat and Halloween Costume Contest this Friday, Oct. 30, giving costumed visitors a chance to win Dollywood tickets.

The doors at the Main Street Media studio on Miller Avenue will open at 6 a.m., welcoming trick-or-treaters of all ages to stop by in costume, collect some candy and enter the contest until 9 a.m.

Participants will have their pictures taken and posted to Facebook, where the costumes will be showcased before first, second and third-place winners are selected. With plenty of creative costumes expected, the competition should be interesting.

Winners will be announced before 10 a.m. Friday and can return to the studios to collect their prizes. Dollywood tickets are expected to be available for pickup before noon, giving winners the opportunity to enjoy a trip to the park over Halloween weekend.

Whether stopping by for the candy or hoping to take home a prize, the Main Street Journal is inviting the community to get dressed up and join in the Halloween fun.
