A man suspected of burglarizing a home in Monterey on Saturday, June 20, 2026 was taken into custody at a home in Cumberland County on Monday, June 22, 2026.  Michael Lynn Vernon was booked into the Cumberland County Jail and will be transferred to the Putnam County Jail.  The Monterey Police Department said that although Mr. Vernon was arrested, the investigation continues and there may be others who will be charged in the case.
