McMinnville resident and Warren County native Newman “Chuck” Cantrell, 60, was born Feb. 15, 1966 and died May 13, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a brief illness.

The owner of Cantrell Septic and Backhoe Service and a member of Freedom Life Church, he was the son of the late Newman Houston and Dorothy Lillian Pepper Cantrell, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Shirley Evans; sisters, Jerri Ann Adams and Teresa Johnson and brother-in-law, Jimmy Evans.

Mr. Cantrell was married Jan. 1, 1998 to Kari Cantrell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Houston Blake Cantrell (Lexie Melton) of McMinnville, Baylee Fults (Blake Ballard) of Cookeville and Karlee Ann Cantrell of McMinnville: grandchildren, Kyler Cantrell, Lane Cantrell, Walker Cantrell, Norah Coffman, and Vera Blake Ballard; several nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law, Alan (Angie) Evans, David (Missie) Evans and Henry Johnson.

Mr. Cantrell will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Freedom Life Church with Anthony Campbell, Kyle Holder and Chris Parris officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Back to the Strip Blessings Program.
