For one day in April, McMinnville's historic Park Theater will become McMinnville's prehistoric Park Theater.

On Saturday, April 18 at 2 p.m. the Park proudly presents Diggery Digger's Rock n' Roar Dino Show, an interactive dinosaur adventure with props, magic and music.

Paleontologist Diggery Digger will take the audience on a tour of his dinosaur fossils, but you never know when opening a secret box might ramp up the excitement and take the crowd back in time to interact with dinosaurs, transforming the Park Theater into a Jurassic Park.

The approximately 50-minute show is tailored to pre-k through third-grade students, but all ages are welcome to join in on the fun. Props, animated dinosaurs, a giant dinosaur egg and puppets are combined with magic and rock music to get audience members involved in a quest to halt a dinosaur invasion and to save the world.

"While we consider most of our shows appropriate for the whole family, we really appreciate the opportunity to occasionally provide entertainment that is geared primarily to kids and families," Park Theater Assistant Manager Ashley Gillentine Wright said. "This Rock n' Roar show will be so much fun for kids who are into science, dinosaurs, magic, music, history and performance in general."

In an effort to further cater to younger members of the audience at all Park Theater shows, the theater recently acquired Koala Kare booster seats which are available for free to all attendees who need a boost to help them better see the stage.

"We are really happy to now have our new booster seats that will make our theater more accessible and shows more enjoyable for the littles," Wright said.

Tickets are $20 plus tax for adults and $10 plus tax for kids and students. The Park is also offering a family fun pack of tickets which includes tickets for two adults and three children for $50 plus tax. Tickets are available at the Park Theater website, the Park box office during business hours and at the doors, which will open at approximately 1 p.m. before the 2 p.m. show. All seating is general admission.
