Rock Island resident Patricia Hitchcock, 62, was born July 20,1963, and died March 8, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following an illness.

A devoted wife, an exceptional mother, and a lifelong friend to many, Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering determination.

Patricia was the daughter of the late Donald and Geneva Austin and was married to Greg Hitchcock of Rock Island, Tennessee. In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her daughter, Allison Hitchcock, of Nashville, Tennessee; her brother, Don (Teresa) Austin, of Morrison, Tennessee; her mother-in-law, Nancy Hitchcock, and her brother-in-law, John Tillman Hitchcock, both of Spencer, Tennessee. She is also remembered with love by her extended family.

Professionally, Patricia devoted over forty years to a remarkable career as a paralegal. Her dedication, advocacy, and genuine warmth shaped the lives of countless colleagues and clients, many of whom became lifelong friends.

Patricia possessed disarming wit, an empathetic heart, and was a shining example of how to think of others - a value that was central to her character. She brought a light to the world that will continue to shine and has left an unfillable void in the lives of everyone that she touched.

Per her wishes, Mrs. Hitchcock will be cremated. Graveside service and inurnment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Alan Northcutt officiating. There will be no visitation at High’s. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
