Pauline Leftrict of McMinnville, passed away at the age of 79 on Jan. 29 at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.

She was born Pauline Hill on May 12, 1946, in McMinnville. She was the daughter of Laura Olivia Hill and James Thomas Hill.

Pauline moved to Denver, Co. for her education, returning to McMinnville in 1965.

On Jan. 6, 1965, she married Levoy Leftrict, Sr. They remained married until her death. Born to this union in McMinnville were Tonya, Stacey, and Levoy Jr. (Simon). The family moved to California where they welcomed Rhonda.

Pauline enjoyed spending time with her children going to flea markets and shopping in San Francisco. She was also a mother figure to some of her children’s friends in Oakland, California. She was an avid reader and one of the best at answering all the questions on Jeopardy. She had a way of making people feel at ease and all loved her.

She was a great cook and prided herself on making sure her family had hot cooked breakfast and dinner each day. For years she worked at The Barn restaurant in Oakland, Calif. where she met her best friend and lifelong “sister," Ruth Glenn.

Pauline moved back home to McMinnville in 1996 where she spent time taking art classes, going to church, and socializing with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Olivia Hill, father, James Thomas Hill, her beloved maternal aunts and uncles, sister, Patricia Joann English, and great granddaughter, Taliyah Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory are husband, Levoy Leftrict, Sr. (McMinnville); brother, Thomas Hill (Denver, Co.); daughters, Tonya Leftrict (Stockton, Calif.), Stacey Leftrict-Green (Stockton, Calif.), and Rhonda McCarty (Sacramento, Calif.); son, Levoy “Simon” Leftrict, Jr. (McMinnville); bonus daughters, Stacey Mayes (Oakland, Calif.), and Crystal Leftrict (Fairfield, Calif.); sisters-in law, Helen Lenoir and Bonita Leftrict; brother-in-law, Danny Leftrict; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026 at High's.
