McMinnville resident and Belvidere, Tenn. native Peggy Scott, 72, was born Sept. 17, 1953 and died Sept. 4, 2026 at her residence following an extended illness.

A former Carrier factory worker and a member of Open Word Tabernacle, she was the daughter of the late Thurman Agee and Ruby Lee Champion Stephens. She was married to Marvin Scott on June 9, 1979 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Phillip Stephens.

Mrs. Scott is survived by daughter, Kristy Scott of McMinnville; son, Kenny (Jeanette) Scott of McMinnville; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Scott, Treven Johnson and Sydney Scott; great-grandson, Fynnley Brindley; nephew, Mason Seymore and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026 in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until time of service at High’s.

Mrs. Scott loved being outside working in the yard.
