As the Pioneers were smashing and bashing with the Tigers in DeKalb County Friday night to start the football season, there was shaking, rattling and rolling going on back in McMinnville at the Park Theater in tribute to the pioneers of rock.

Shake, Rattle & Roll, a four-piece band featuring Daxton Patrick, Jacob Miller, Justin Foster and Slade Moore, brought the sounds of ‘50s and ‘60s rock back to the confines of the historic theater where they once echoed.

Featuring the music of Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Roger Miller, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and many more, the set list pleased the crowd, transporting many of the audience members to their youth.

With two sets featuring nearly 30 songs broken up by a short intermission , the night served as a musical time machine paying tribute to musical legends. Songs included “Party,” “The Wanderer,” ”Return to Sender,” “Yakery Yak,” “Chug a Lug,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Pretty Woman,” “Secret Agent Man,” Folsom Prison Blues,” ”Devil in Disguise,” “King of the Road,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” and many more.

Next up at the Park Theater is Reverb Rounds, a songwriter showcase, Saturday at 7 p.m.
