Rock Island resident and Macomb County, Mich. native Richard Henry Angaran, 94, was born May 26, 1931 and died March 31, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro following a brief illness.
A United States Air Force veteran of Korea and retired machinist, he was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline Angaran. He was married July 13, 1957 to Betty Virginia Frey Angaran. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Catrina Angaran; great-granddaughter, Miley Angaran and son-in-law, Duane Trapp.
Mr. Angaran is survived by five children, Arthur (Kaye) Angaran of Carp Lake, Mich., Alan Angaran of Michigan, Audrey Trapp of Smithville, Anna Sapienza of Warren, Mich. and Joseph Angaran of Rock Island; nine grandchildren, Edward Dillard, Jolene Dillard, Heather Vitale, Sabrina Angaran, Felishia Angaran, Joseph Angaran, Jennifer Angaran, Jaynee Angaran and Jayla Angaran; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Sharon) Angaran of Clinton Township, Mich. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 in High's Chapel with David Grissom. Burial will follow in the New Union Cemetery on Hwy. 30. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at High's.
