RSCC Press Release:

Roane State’s new Applied and Innovative Technology Division will host its inaugural Internship Day on September 17, 2026, at the Oak Ridge Campus.

The event will focus on internship and apprenticeship opportunities in nuclear technology, chemical engineering, environmental health, project management, mechatronics, robotics, and cybersecurity – all sectors that are now part of the  newest academic division at the college.

“One of the most important things we can do for our students is to connect them with key employers in their chosen field,” explained Dr. Sylvia Pastor, dean of the Applied and Innovative Technology Division. “These connections provide critical work experience so current students and graduates are better prepared to take the next step in their career.”

Internship Day is scheduled for 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. ET in the lobby of the Goff Health Sciences and Technology Building. Dr. Pastor noted that paid internship opportunities with several area employers will be featured along with experiential internships.

Students interested in exploring internship openings in STEM disciplines or learning more about the associated academic and training opportunities available at Roane State are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not required – walk-ins are welcome.

The campus is located at 701 Briarcliff Avenue in Oak Ridge. Questions about the event can be directed to Dr. Pastor by emailing pastorsh@roanestate.edu.
