With cooler temperatures settling in and the fall sports season in the books, the spotlight on Warren County sports is beginning to shift indoors.
Another busy week awaits Warren County athletes as elementary basketball shifts towards tournament play, Boyd Christian tips off a new high school basketball campaign and Warren County Middle prepares for another tuneup before district play begins next week.
Wrestling is also picking up steam, with both WCMS and WCHS programs set for competition as the winter sports season begins to take shape.
Postseason basketball on the horizon

The finish line is in sight for Warren County's elementary basketball teams, but there's still some unfinished business before postseason play begins.
With several teams already having completed their regular seasons, Monday brings one final opportunity for others to improve their records and build momentum before Thursday's play-in games.
Two teams have already secured regular-season championships and enter the final night unbeaten at 9-0, with Boyd Christian's girls looking to complete a perfect season and West's boys coming off a title-clinching 26-17 victory over second-place Dibrell on Thursday.
The Lady Broncos have dominated much of the season, although their most recent outing provided their toughest challenge yet. Behind 13 points from Sky Wright, Boyd escaped Irving College with a 14-6 victory Tuesday to preserve its perfect record and secure the girls regular-season crown.
Boyd will have one final opportunity to complete an undefeated 10-0 campaign Monday when the Lady Broncos visit Dibrell (0-9). Centertown, meanwhile, has already secured second place at 9-1 after closing its regular season with seven consecutive victories.
On the boys side, West's championship-clinching victory over Dibrell snapped the Wildcats' seven-game winning streak and left the Wizards one win away from perfection. Cam Chadwell led West with 10 points, while Princeton Scott added nine and Byron Keyes contributed seven.
The Wizards will travel to Irving College (5-4) Monday seeking their 10th consecutive victory, while Dibrell (7-2) hosts Boyd Christian (2-7) with second place still within reach.
Elsewhere, Eastside visits Bobby Ray in a doubleheader between teams looking to finish their regular seasons on a positive note.
Monday's games begin at 6 p.m., with the boys contests following the girls. The postseason gets underway Thursday with play-in games, although matchups and times have yet to be announced.
Boyd looks to build on postseason success

A new basketball season gets underway Tuesday night at J.K. Stanley Gymnasium, where Boyd Christian's Broncos and Lady Broncos will welcome Riverside Christian Academy for their 2026-27 season-opening doubleheader.
Both programs are coming off memorable postseason runs, although they'll enter the new campaign with different challenges as they look to build on last winter's success.
For coach Tim Page and the Lady Broncos, the new season brings an opportunity to continue the program's recent run of success after finishing 26-15 last winter. Boyd captured its first NACA championship in nine years with a 60-48 victory over previously unbeaten Mt. Pleasant Christian in March, just weeks after finishing as TSIAA Division I state runner-up for the third consecutive season.
Senior standout Brooke Kesey returns to lead the charge after becoming Boyd Christian's all-time leading scorer with 2,177 career points. Kesey capped her junior season with a career-high 41 points in the NACA championship game, although the Lady Broncos will have some production to replace following the graduation of Cydney Perry and the transfer of Katie Bechtel to Warren County.
On the boys side, coach Dustin Curtis and the Broncos enter the new season hoping to carry over the momentum from last winter's remarkable postseason turnaround.
Despite finishing 4-28, Boyd made an improbable run to the TSIAA Division II state championship game, winning consecutive overtime thrillers against Riverside Christian and Franklin Classical before finishing as state runner-up.
Tuesday's opener offers an immediate rematch of one of those postseason battles, when Boyd outlasted Riverside Christian 75-69 in triple overtime during the state quarterfinals. Levi Jordan scored 24 points in that victory, helping spark a postseason run that provided a bright spot in an otherwise difficult season.
The Lady Broncos will open Tuesday's doubleheader at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at approximately 7:30 p.m.
A chance to bounce back and build

After a week of contrasting results, Warren County Middle School's basketball teams will have another opportunity to build momentum before district play begins next week.
The Lady Pioneers and Pioneers will travel to Tullahoma West on Thursday for their only matchup of the week, with the girls entering at 2-2 and the boys carrying a 3-1 record following Friday's trip to Cannon County.
The Lady Pioneers snapped a two-game skid in convincing fashion against the Lionettes, overcoming a sluggish start before closing the contest with 22 unanswered points in a 48-14 victory.
Hailey Geesling led Warren County with nine points, while Ariana Aguilar added seven and Finley MacDonald scored six. Ten different Lady Pioneers contributed to the scoring effort, and Warren County committed just seven turnovers after struggling with ball security in its previous two outings.
The Pioneers, meanwhile, suffered their first setback of the season Friday, falling behind early in a 46-27 loss to Cannon County.
After winning their first three games by at least 27 points, Warren County struggled offensively against the Lions, falling into a 29-8 halftime hole before showing signs of life in the second half. Cooper Murphy led the Pioneers with seven points and six rebounds, while Brody Chisam added six points.
Both teams will have an opportunity to build on their previous success against Tullahoma West, which Warren County swept in its season-opening doubleheader Oct. 27.
The Lady Pioneers cruised to a 35-12 victory in that meeting, while the Pioneers dominated the boys contest 59-25.
Thursday's rematch is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in Tullahoma, with Warren County's first district contests awaiting the following week.
Home tournament highlights wrestling slate

The wrestling season continues to pick up steam this week, with Warren County Middle School preparing for three competitions and Warren County High School's boys and girls teams gearing up for another busy season on the mat.
WCMS opens the week Tuesday with a tri-match at Upperman against the host Yellow Jackets and Livingston Tigers beginning at 5 p.m. The Pioneers will then travel to Blackman for another 5 p.m. matchup Thursday before returning home Saturday to host the War at Warren Duals beginning at 8 a.m.
The busy stretch follows a challenging week for the Pioneers, who went 1-2 in dual competition. Warren County defeated Cascade 54-30 before narrowly falling to Tullahoma 45-42 on Tuesday, then suffered a 65-24 setback against Soddy Daisy in Thursday's home opener. Gabe Rowland was a bright spot for the Pioneers, recording pins in all three duals, while Hayden Childress, Jared Henning, Urijah Merriman and Frankie Donelly each collected two pins during the week.
Meanwhile, both WCHS wrestling programs will be in tournament action Saturday. The Lady Pioneers, who made their preseason debut at Tullahoma last week, will travel to Blackman for the Early Bird tournament, while the Pioneers head to Nolensville for their first tournament appearance of the season. Both teams will then turn their attention to their home dual opener next Tuesday.
