McMinnville resident and Warren County native Steve Lynn Phillips, 75, was born Feb. 5, 1951 and died Aug. 24, 2026 at his residence following an extended illness. 

A retired employee of National Sheet Metal and a member of the Church of Christ, Mr. Phillips was the son of the late A.L. and Mildred Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Allison Lynn Brewer; son-in-law, Jason Tyler Brewer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.L. & Christine Cooper and brother-in-law, Gary Cooper. 

Mr. Phillips is survived by wife, Susan Phillips of McMinnville; son, Steven (Kim) Phillips of Knoxville; grandchildren, Joshua (Mary) Wanamaker and Garridan (Samantha) Brewer; great-grandchild on the way, Althea Wanamaker; sister, Susie (Chuck) Taylor of McMinnville; niece, Hannah Taylor of Nashville; sister-in-law, Lisa (Chuck) Clanton of Morristown as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Justin Reed and Greg Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until the time of service at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
