The skies may have been a bit gloomy Friday morning, but the smiles were bright at McMinnville Special Games.

A lemonade and homemade baked goods sale began at 10 a.m. at 225 Garfield St. July 10. Offering a wide variety of treats including Rice Krispy squares, cookies, cakes, cotton candy and much more, the sale is intended to help the local non-profit fund local adventures.

"Our special friends worked very hard yesterday and made a lot of this, but most of it came from all the awesome local people who donated," McMinnville Special Games Executive Director Holly McBride said. "We've got hoecakes, pies, candy, lemonade and lots more. And we're out taking turns holding signs on the corner to welcome people in. It started sprinkling so we moved it all inside and it looks like a grocery store in there. Everybody here is having so much fun with it.

"The money raised goes to their 'Go Fund.' We take day trips around town like when the Park Theater has something going on. We also plan to go to Three Star Cinema to see 'Toy Story 5,' and we are going to go to Koen's Creamery when they open. We go to Topz once every couple of months and we go visit Rocky, the rock snake at The Lot. We welcome everybody to contribute their painted rocks to help Rocky grow."

The lemonade and bake sale continues until 3 p.m. Friday, July 10 at the Enrichment Center at 225 Garfield St.
