Crossville
The Cumberland County Commission has approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for major improvements to State Route 299, also known as Westel Road, from near Pig Path Road to the I-40 Interchange.
Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster reports the project includes widening and turn lanes, drainage improvements, sidewalks and significant improvements to the I-40 interchange, ramps and bridge.
TDOT says the project plans do not call for the closure of Pig Path Road.
