McMinnville resident and Warren County native Thomas Michael Hillis, 74, was born Sept. 26, 1952 and died Oct. 16, 2026 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville following an extended illness.

A retired truck driver with Hillis Trucking and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Elzy Lawson Hillis and Loretta Wilcher Hillis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Bary Hillis and sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Hillis and Phyllis Hillis.

Mr. Hillis is survived by brothers, Steve Hillis and Gary (Gail) Hillis, both of Rock Island; sisters, Sandra Stubblefield (Wayne Sullivan), Retta (Dale) Martin, Darlene (Anthony) Malone and Tracie (Stan) Myers, all of Rock Island and Jenny (Jeff) Wanamaker and Lisa (Shawn) Barrett, both of McMinnville; special friend, Barbara Taylor; several other NHC friends and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-great-niece and great-nephews.

Mr. Hillis loved a good laugh.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oc. 18, 2026 at Mt. View Hwy. 30 Cemetery in Warren County. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
