Crossville
The Crossville City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance establishing a temporary two-year moratorium on data centers within city limits, aligning policy with a similar measure passed recently by Cumberland County.
City Attorney Randy York noted that while the city must remain mindful of property rights, the ordinance allows Crossville to pause development, study the impact of these facilities, and collectively build long-term guidelines alongside county officials.
The ordinance will require two more readings before it is fully enacted.
