WC Elite Basketball has released its newest slate of boys and girls teams for the 2026 travel season, continuing a local player-development program that has become one of Warren County’s strongest pipelines for young talent.
The program, now operating for close to a decade, is directed by former Warren County standout and Lady Pioneer guard Lacey Griffith Slatton. WC Elite has built its reputation on three priorities: skill development, competitive spring and summer schedules and preparing athletes to transition smoothly into middle school and high school basketball. The group works closely with Warren County High School coaches and runs almost all of its practices and tryouts at the high school’s main and auxiliary gyms.
Recently, WC Elite released rosters for its 3rd through 5th grade teams. Selections included standout kids from many of the local elementary squads this past winter, while coaching assignments were also announced, highlighting a staff made up entirely of locals and former players.
The next wave of evaluations happens this Sunday as the organization turns its attention to the 6th through 8th grade groups. Tryouts begin at 1 p.m. in the WCHS auxiliary gym with 6th grade boys, followed by 6th grade girls at 2:15. Seventh grade boys and girls will work out from 3:30–4:30 in both gyms, while 8th graders will take the floor from 4:45–5:45.
Parent meetings for each age group follow immediately after their sessions, and WC Elite has emphasized that tryouts are closed to spectators. The program also issued a Winterfest exception, allowing any middle school player returning late from the church event to try out with an upper age group if needed.
For Slatton, the goal remains the same: give Warren County kids every opportunity to grow. WC Elite teams routinely compete against AAU and travel groups across Tennessee and neighboring states, helping young athletes gain reps, improve basketball IQ, and enter school seasons with confidence.
