Parents of Warren County Schools students have just received a notification about a situation currently occurring at local schools. After several moments, the Secure status was lifted and another notification was sent.

The original notification reads as follows:

Warren County High School and Hickory Creek Elementary School have been placed in Secure status at the request of local law enforcement due to a situation in the surrounding area.There is no known threat or cause for alarm on either school campus. Students and staff are safe, and normal activities will continue inside the buildings while exterior doors remain secured.We are in communication with law enforcement and will provide an update as soon as the Secure status is lifted.

A Secure status means a school locks its exterior doors and restricts anyone from entering or leaving because of a potential threat or safety concern outside the building.

Moments after the original message, the school system sent another notification stating the situation had been resolved. That message read as follows:

The Secure status at Warren County High School and Hickory Creek Elementary School has now been lifted at the direction of law enforcement. Both campuses have returned to normal operations. We appreciate the quick response of our school staff and local law enforcement.
