William 'Wil’ Smith, known as ‘Bill’ to many, passed away on March 25, 2026. He was born in McMinnville on April 6, 1954, to the late Linwood and Isobel Jordan Smith.

Wil had a wide variety of skills and used his knowledge in many ways over his lifetime — realty and flipping houses, serving others, the antique business and as an artist. He loved engaging with other cultures and broadened his life experience in several states across the country. Wil respected different perspectives and never stopped asking questions and learning new things. He was extremely creative and had talent that touched every part of his life including his artistic eye and ability, an eclectic home, and how he viewed the world. There was no plant he could not grow, and he could nearly always be found making his yard more beautiful or out on a walk, enjoying the sunshine. He never met a stranger and would take the time to make anyone he encountered feel seen and entertained with a good story.

Wil is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Caroline & John Lewis, granddaughters Lora Claire and Lucy Kate Lewis, and son Daniel Smith.
He is also survived by Lucinda Smith, as well as many beloved cousins, friends, and neighbors.

Family and friends are invited to visitation at McMinnville Funeral Home on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Memorial contributions are requested for the Magness Library and the Warren County Food Bank.

Online condolences may be made to www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com
