Daryl Surbrook returned to White County General Sessions Court Tuesday on a statutory rape charge that dates back more than 16 years.

The charge stems from a 2010 case involving a minor. According to the warrant, the alleged incident occurred at a White County residence, and Surbrook was said to have left the residence afterward and gone to Livingston. The warrant was issued that year, but Surbrook did not enter the White County jail on the charge until Oct. 1, 2026.

His appearance on the jail roster last week brought the long-pending case back to the forefront, and Surbrook appeared before a judge Tuesday. The statutory rape charge remains unresolved, with the case continued until Dec. 1.

Surbrook was one of several defendants whose cases came before General Sessions Court Tuesday, with others entering pleas, receiving sentences or having charges dismissed.
