A White County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Alverson Road near Smithville Highway at approximately 10 p.m. July 20 after someone reported seeing a man slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle.
White County General Sessions Court handled a mix of criminal matters Tuesday, including guilty pleas in domestic assault, drug and DUI cases, along with hearings involving burglary, probation violations and other pending felony charges.
Several defendants received sentences during the session, while other cases were continued for future court dates
A Sunday afternoon crash on U.S. 70 near Crossville Highway left several people injured after a pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a collision that sent a passenger van off the roadway and onto its roof.
The crash occurred shortly before 3:45 p.m. on July 19.
