Boyd Christian School is set to tee off its fourth Annual Athletics Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Willowbrook Golf Course. The four-person scramble will begin with registration from 7–8 a.m., followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch will be served following play.

The tournament is limited to the first 36 teams to register. The entry fee is $400 per team, which includes lunch. Proceeds from the event will benefit the school’s athletic programs.

"We've had a lot of success with this event over the last few years," said athletic director Tim Page, who also coaches the high school girls basketball team. "We always have some good prizes and I think people like our rules and format.

"The biggest thing is a lot of people have really started to enjoy supporting all of our athletic endeavors at Boyd Christian School. We're continuing to grow and this event is a big boost in us bring more and more sports to the school."

Boyd added wrestling, middle school volleyball and cheerleading last year. There are plans for the Lady Broncos to start competing in flag football this school year while also adding baseball for the young Broncos.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for people looking to support Boyd, ranging from a $1,000 Platinum Sponsor — which includes a 4-person team and hole signage — down to a $25 raffle prize donation. Other levels include Gold ($750), Silver ($500), Orange ($250), and Blue ($100) with varying benefits such as hole signage, contest sponsorships or recognition at the course.

Entry forms and payments can be submitted at Willowbrook or at Boyd Christian School. For more information or to register, contact athletic director Tim Page at 931-808-2041 or email boydathleticdirector@gmail.com. Checks should be made payable to Boyd Christian School.

Junior Brooke Kesey has spent her summer expanding her range after already racking up over 1,000 points in her young career at Boyd.

Lady Broncos getting in summer scrimmage

Boyd Christian will get another early glimpse at its future Friday when longtime rival Riverside Christian visits JK Stanley Gym for a summer scrimmage.

The Lady Broncos and Lady Knights are set to square off in both JV and varsity action, continuing a spirited rivalry that has spanned several seasons in the TSIAA South. While new league alignments will place the two programs in separate divisions for the 2025-26 season, both schools have agreed to maintain their home-and-home series even if it no longer affects the standings.

“It’s just another chance for us to get some more summer work,” said Boyd coach Tim Page. “We played a full season’s worth of games in June, but our kids were right back in the gym after camps in East Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana working on their game.”

Riverside is led by former WCHS standout Robbie France, who is ushering in a new wave of talent from a successful middle school program in Fayetteville. With many of his players moving up, Friday’s scrimmage should offer a strong measuring stick as Boyd enters the year as the two-time defending South Division champs.

Boyd Christian’s girls basketball team has owned the matchup with TSIAA South foe Riverside Christian in recent years, but the Knights closed the gap in the 2024-25 season. After suffering three blowout losses to the Lady Broncos in 2023-24, Riverside battled hard in a 58-51 home loss in November before forfeiting a rematch in McMinnville later in the season due to injuries and sickness.

Boyd has a 9-0 record against Riverside over the last four seasons.

Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
