McMinnville resident and Cannon County native Carolyn Ann “Tiny” Amonett, 78, was born Sept. 5, 1947 and died Feb. 20, 2026 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville following a brief illness.
A former employee of Findlay Automotive and a member of Bethany Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Noma Powell Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Rickey Cox; brothers, John Murphy and Phillip Murphy and sisters, Olivene Smith and Linda Brewer.
She was married to Wayne Amonett of McMinnville on March 17, 1980. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Nickey (Patty) Coppinger and Lee Ann Hildreth, both of McMinnville; three grandchildren, Amber Wright, Dana Hay and Bryce Hildreth; eight great-grandchildren, Lucas McMellen, Haisley Wright, Hollis Wright, Taylor Hay, Riley Hay, Addison Hay, Brylen Hildreth and Sawyer Hildreth; sister, Joyce Mallot of Niles, Mich. and several nieces and nephews.
