The White County School Board voted Thursday to approve a memorandum of understanding allowing the White County Sheriff’s Department to continue using the former Central View School property and move forward with plans to turn it into a training facility.
The biggest point of discussion was how much time the sheriff’s department would have to vacate the property if the school system ever needed the building back for educational use. Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said the department asked for a two-year exit clause because of the time, money, and work that would go into making the facility usable.
