The City of Sparta has officially completed the purchase of a downtown building on Liberty Square, approving a budget amendment to account for the more than $1 million transaction. The building at 13 Liberty Square, formerly owned by Christpoint Church, now becomes the third adjacent property on the western block of the square owned by the city, joining Oldham Theater and the Sparta Amphitheater to create a full row of city-owned properties.
