• The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen will have a special called meeting Tuesday, June 17, at 6 p.m. to consider next year’s budget, specifically a budget amendment for a new firetruck and appropriations for nonprofit organizations.
  • Warren Arts and the historic Park Theater present “Mamma Mia,” a musical extravaganza based on the songs of ABBA, June 14 and 15. Based on a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father, the musical tells the story of how she brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show.   • The 14th Annual Warren County Lions Club Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, June 14, at Willowbrook Golf Club in Manchester. The two-person scramble will honor Past Council Chair Bob Davenport and kicks off with lunch at noon, followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Entry is $100 per player and includes lunch, green fees, and the chance to support the Lions Club’s community service efforts. All proceeds benefit local vision programs and youth initiatives.
  • The Phyllis Prater Memorial Steak Cookoff will be held Saturday, June 14, at Prater's BBQ at 9576 Manchester Hwy. in Morrison. $2,500 in payouts will be awarded for steaks, and $500 will be given out in prizes for wings and ribs.   • A sexual assault support group meeting will be held Thursday, June 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Families in Crisis, located at 101 W. Main St. Participants are encouraged to attend and feel at home with other survivors as they receive support, take part in healing activities, increase self-esteem and learn coping skills to empower them for wherever they are in their journey.   • The Warren County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting Thursday, June 19, from 6-7 p.m. in the early voting room of the Warren County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. Members promote personal liberties, conservative values, and discuss and execute ideas to elect conservatives to local county and city government. The group meets the third Thursday of each month.
  • Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E. Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.

  • North Warren Church of Christ invites you to a free yard sale Friday, June 20 from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 472 Parkhurst Rd. in McMinnville to kick off its week-long summer gospel meeting. The congregation wishes to share with the community of the abundance they’ve been blessed with. North Warren politely asks attendees to only take what they need so as many families as possible can be served.
  • Main Street Live, the local concert series sponsored by Main Street McMinnville, will feature the band “Legacy” performing classic rock Friday, June 20 at 7 p.m. The series provides free concerts on the west lawn of Security Federal throughout June and July, with vendors opening at 6 p.m. before the show begins. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
  • The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be held Saturday, June 21, from 2-4 p.m. at the Warren County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. The WCGHS meets the third Saturday of each month, offering a different program or speaker.   • The Agee Family will be performing at New Union The Baptist Church, located at 360 Church Rd. in Smithville, on Sunday, June 22, at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend for great singing, fellowship and worship.
  • North Warren Church of Christ at 472 Parkhurst Rd. in McMinnville is having a week-long gospel meeting starting Sunday June 22 through Sunday June 29 with evangelist Lee Adair, Monday - Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. with a potluck between. The church will have homemade ice cream Friday night following services. Monday through Friday there will be bible studies, daytime worship services on how to study the bible and daily activities planned. All are invited to come enjoy a time of worship and fellowship with a wonderful family of God’s people.
  • A free car wash, compliments of General Sessions Judge Ryan J. Moore to provide community service hours for juveniles, will be held Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m. until noon in the parking lot of the Warren County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. Anyone needing their dirty car cleaned is encouraged to attend.
