McMinnville Community Calendar
The Main Street Journal's Community Calendar is presented FREE each week by our friends at Lassiter's Towing.
- A charity car show benefiting the Warren County Emergency Food Bank and Meals on Wheels will be held Saturday, July 11, from 3-6 p.m. at Westwood Church of Christ, located at 511 Morrison St. in McMinnville. Sponsored by Full Throttle Philanthropists, the event will feature cars, trucks and motorcycles competing for Top 20 awards, seven specialty category awards and Best of Show honors. Registration is $20 per vehicle, or $10 with the donation of canned food items. All food collected during the event will be donated to Meals on Wheels and the Warren County Emergency Food Bank. The show will be held rain or shine, and organizers say every mile driven helps bring hope to local families in need.
- Registration is underway for the McMinnville Fall 2026 Co-Ed Adult Soccer League and will continue through Aug. 9 at the Milner Recreation Center. The league fee is $80 per player, and all participants will receive a player card. The season will feature seven games played on Saturday nights between August and October, with 25-minute halves. - Registration is open for the McMinnville Youth Soccer Fall 2026 season through July 19. Late registration will be available July 20-26. The registration fee is $70 per child, with additional children in the same family discounted to $65 each. The league offers divisions ranging from U3/U4 through U15-U18. Age groups are determined by birth year, and players must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 29 to participate. Registration information is available through McMinnville Parks and Recreation and McMinnville Youth Soccer.
- Vacation Bible School at Trousdale Church of Christ will be held Sunday, July 12, through Wednesday, July 15, at 9376 Shelbyville Rd. in Morrison. This year's theme is "Under Construction: Building the House of God," based on Matthew 7:24. Activities begin nightly at 7 p.m. The community is invited to attend.
- The Warren County Candidate Forum and Debate will be held Monday at the Park Theater in downtown McMinnville. Candidates in contested races for Warren County Commission will begin the evening at 5 p.m., followed by candidates for U.S. House of Representatives, Tennessee House of Representatives, Warren County School Board, sheriff, county executive and 31st Judicial District Attorney General. The forum will be moderated by Middle Tennessee State University history professor Dr. Amy Sayward. Members of the public are invited to attend and may submit written questions for consideration by delivering them in a sealed envelope to the Main Street Media offices at 230 W. Colville St. by 3 p.m. Monday. The event will also be broadcast live on WCPI 91.3 FM, WBMC 960 AM and BLTV Channel 6, as well as streamed on BLTV's Facebook page.
- A joint meeting of the Warren County Commission's Budget & Finance and Financial Management committees will be held Monday, July 13, at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Warren County Administrative Building, located at 201 Locust St.
- West Sparta Church of Christ will host Vacation Bible School Monday through Thursday, July 13-16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each evening at 101 Hampton Dr. in Sparta. Classes will be offered for all ages, from babies through adults. The theme for this year's VBS is "Victory," based on 1 Corinthians 15:57. Everyone is invited to attend.
- The Warren County Commission's Building and Grounds committee will meet Tuesday, July 14, at 4:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Warren County Administrative Building, located at 201 Locust St.
- Independent candidates for county races will have a meet-and-greet Wednesday, July 15th from 6-8 p.m. in the Dogwood Room at the Warren County Administrative Building located at 201 Locust St. The public is invited to meet Independent candidates and find out where they stand on local issues.
- Families in Crisis will host a Sexual Assault Support Group Thursday, July 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 101 W Main St. The group offers survivors a safe space to receive support, take part in healing activities, increase self-esteem, and learn coping skills to empower them on their journey.
- The Warren County Master Gardeners’ Association will meet Thursday, July 16 at 6 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Warren County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. WCMGA meets the third Thursday of each month, gathering at the fairgrounds during summer months and at the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building during the rest of the year. - Dayspring Community Church will host "Camp Chaos" Vacation Bible School Friday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 18, beginning at 10 a.m. The event is open to ages 0-12, and will be held at 4295 Smithville Hwy. For more information call Abbi Raper at (931) 314-3710.
- Westwood Church of Christ will host a free School Store on Saturday, July 18, from 9-11 a.m. in the Westwood Gym at 511 Morrison St. in McMinnville. The event, made possible through support from the Steve and Kate Smith Trust, will provide free backpacks and school supplies to local students on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Families attending will also be able to enjoy a light breakfast and bounce houses during the event.
- The Young Men United and Underdogs Fighting Odds Back to School Bash will be held Saturday, July 18, from 2-5 p.m. at 103 Bernard Dr. in McMinnville. The free event will provide backpacks and school supplies to local students while supplies last and will also feature food, games, a photo booth, ice cream, bounce houses and additional family activities. Organizers will also offer prizes, giveaways and gift cards throughout the afternoon as they help local students prepare for the upcoming school year.
- The McMinnville Rotary Club will hold its annual River Ride and Clean-up on Saturday, July 18. The free community event will begin with registration from 7:30-9 a.m. at Pepper Branch Park. Volunteers who preregister through the Rotary McMinnville, TN Facebook page will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last, with the first 100 preregistered participants guaranteed a shirt. A complimentary breakfast from Hardee's will be provided for volunteers, and participants will also receive a coupon for $10 off lunch or dinner Saturday at Smooth Rapids. Rotary will provide kayaks or canoes, along with trash bags, gloves, life jackets, safety kits and other necessary equipment. The river cleanup is expected to continue until approximately 11 a.m.
- Rose's Rolling Pin will host a bread-baking workshop on Saturday, July 18, in the Community Room at 110 S. Court Square in McMinnville. Three two-hour sessions will be offered from 9-11 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. The cost is $55 with a $20 deposit required to reserve a spot. - The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, July 18, at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administration Building, 201 Locust St. The meeting will feature a special salute to America's 250th birthday with a Revolutionary War-themed show-and-tell. Attendees are invited to share information about a Revolutionary War ancestor, wear period clothing or red, white and blue attire, and enjoy refreshments. Visitors are welcome.
- The Viola Fire Department and Viola Homecoming will host a truck and tractor pull Saturday, July 18 at 7 p.m. at 10301 Viola Rd. to benefit the local fire department. MTPA and TPA sanctioned classes will be in action, as well as two unsanctioned classes. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-12. Kids 5 and under will be admitted free.
- Dayspring Community Church’s 2026 Vacation Bible School, “Camp Chaos,” will be held Friday, July 17 from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, July 18 beginning at 10 a.m. It is open to ages 0-12 years. For more information call Abbi Raper at 931-314-3710.
- Vacation Bible School will be held Sunday through Tuesday, July 19-21, at Bethel Hill Baptist Church, 1137 W. Green Hill Rd. in McMinnville. Activities are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening. Dinner will be provided, and the community is invited to attend.
- Gath Baptist Church is holding a Vacation Bible School July 20-24 from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. each night. This year’s theme is “Junkyard Redemption: God’s Master Plan to Remake our Broken World.” It is described as an exciting and interactive learning experience for children aged 2-12. For more information or to pre-register your child, call 931-934-2655. Children may register at the event, as well.
- Prayer at the Fountain will be held Thursday, July 23, at 7 p.m. at the fountain in downtown McMinnville. The event will feature worship music led by Destinee and Matthew Dasaro, with a message from Pastor David Kilgore. Those unable to attend in person can watch online through the Prayer at the Fountain Facebook group. For more information, contact Debbie Young at (931) 259-2054.
- The Warren County Health Department will offer a Stay Active and Independent for Life (S.A.I.L.) class beginning Monday, July 27, at the Warren County Health Department, located at 1410 Sparta St., Suite 21 in McMinnville. The evidence-based strength and balance fitness program is designed for adults ages 65 and older and will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-10 a.m. through Oct. 15. - Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
