
· The Rock Island Church of Christ will host a Gospel Meeting from July 20–23, featuring guest speaker Carey Terry. Services will be held on Sunday at 9:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m., and continue Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. each evening. The church is located at 226 Great Falls Rd., Rock Island, TN 38581. · Arlington Church of Christ will host its 2025 Vacation Bible School from July 20–23 at 7 p.m. each evening. The theme is “Great Bible Battles,” with lessons focusing on Jericho, Gideon, Goliath, and the Christian battle against sin. Classes will be available for all ages. The church is located at 2500 Faulkner Springs Rd.
· Main Street Live!, the local concert series sponsored by Main Street McMinnville, will return to the west lawn beside Security Federal Friday, July 25, at 7 p.m. with the Santana tribute band “Soul Sacrifice.” July 25 will also be the event’s “Back to School Bash!” The series provides free concerts on the west lawn of Security Federal throughout June and July, with vendors opening at 6 p.m. before the show begins. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
· The next Warren County Prevention & Intervention Coalition meeting will take place on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. until noon at 120 Omni Drive, McMinnville. The guest speaker will be Sarah Marchetti from Turning Point Hospital, who will be sharing valuable insights on the services they provide and how they support our community. All members and community partners are encouraged to attend and be part of the conversation.
· The Warren County Genealogical Historical Association will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, July 19, from 2-4 p.m. at the County Administration Building at 201 Locust St. The WCGHS meets the third Saturday of each month offering a different program or speaker. · The dive-in movie “Moana 2” will be shown at the Gilley Pool Saturday, July 19, beginning at 8:15 p.m. The event is sponsored by Security Federal Savings Bank, and admission is free to the first 100 guests.
· The Viola Fire Department’s 2025 truck and tractor pull will be held Saturday, July 19, at 6 p.m. at 10301 Viola Rd. Multiple sanctioned and non-sanctioned classes will be competing, with proceeds benefiting the fire department’s efforts throughout the year. · The Pioneerette Princess Tea Party will be held Sunday, July 27, from 2-4 p.m. at the West Elementary Gym at 400 Clark Blvd. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite princess attire and join in for an afternoon of pampering, crafts, princesses and tea party snacks. Each princess will receive a crown, wand and goody bag, and will have a chance to meet their favorite princesses. Cost is $30 for early registration, and $35 the day of the event. · The Junior Auxiliary will hold a membership social Thursday, July 31, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Oh Sugar, located at 410 N. Chancery St. Sweets and light refreshments will be provided. Attendees will be able to apply to join the JA as they learn more about the group and its projects by speaking with members.
· “Stuff the Bus McMinnville,” a school supply drive sponsored by United Way of South Central Tennessee, will be held July 25-27, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Walmart at 915 S. Chancery St. Items needed include scissors, crayons, composition notebooks, hygiene items, index cards, pencil cases, erasers, tissues, Lysol wipes, Ziploc bags, backpacks, pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, colored pencils, headphones, earbuds, folders, binders, wide and college ruled paper, glue sticks, and graph paper. · The Warren County Democratic Party will hold its monthly meeting Monday, Aug. 4, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Room of the Warren County Administrative Building at 201 Locust St. The group meets the first Monday of each month.
· The Warren County Health Department will host a Community Baby Shower on Friday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Three Star Mall, located at 1410 Sparta Street in McMinnville. This free event will provide valuable prenatal information, along with giveaways and light refreshments for attendees. No registration is required to attend. · Heavenly Closet Thrift Store is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 100 Market Street, adjacent to the Farmer’s Market. The organization’s soup kitchen is open Mondays and Fridays, from 11:30 a.m. until noon each day, at 218 E. Main St. Proceeds from the thrift store fund the soup kitchen’s efforts. Volunteers and donations are always accepted. The group is part of the “Helping Hands” ministry.
