According to the latest financial report from the county, the codes department issued 26 residential building permits in August, generating a little over $35,000 in fees—down from $41,000 at this time last year. No commercial permits were issued. Local option sales tax collections for local schools came in at $1.5 million for the latest period. While that figure was about $39,000 below monthly projections, year-to-date sales tax collections remain more than $26,000 ahead of expectations. Meanwhile, Emergency Medical Services revenue came in at $276,000 for the month, below estimated projections.
