David Brent DeLong, 47

McMinnville resident and Warren County native David Brent DeLong, 47, was born April 23, 1978 and died Dec. 30, 2025 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following a sudden illness.

He was an inspector with Security Equipment Company and the son of Larry DeLong and Teresa Holland DeLong. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dorris and Myrtle Holland and partner, Sandra DeLong.

Mr. DeLong is survived by his father, Larry (Lesa) DeLong of McMinnville; mother, Teresa Holland DeLong of McMinnville; children, Blake DeLong (Bella Blankenship), Airrah (Drew) Simpson, Alex Sullivan and Eliza Sullivan all of McMinnville; grandchildren, MaKylee and Kennedy Sullivan and Emma Simpson; brothers, Chris (Sarah) DeLong of North Carolina, Darrin (Crystal) DeLong of McMinnville and Will (Nichole) DeLong; sisters, Stacy Gaines and Beth DeLong (Cole Rust) both of McMinnville; partner, Sheila Jones and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026 in High's Chapel with Travis Wanamaker officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at High's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.
