McMinnville resident and Pulaski native David Paul Tate, 78, was born Oct. 9, 1947 and died April 5, 2026 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.

A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, member of the Masonic Lodge, retired set up supervisor with Pine Hill Plastics and of the Protestant faith, he was the son of the late Roy and Macie Tate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Fay Prater, Larry Tate and Wanda Tanner and two nephews, Bob Burch and John Tanner.

Mr. Tate was married April 26, 1969 to Sandy Harper Tate. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, George (Trena) Tate and Tracie (Brent) Travis both of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Kelcy (Chris) Pepper, Adeline Travis, Cindy (James) Saldana, Daniel (Marina) Taylor and Aaron (Kelsey) Taylor all of McMinnville; twelve great-grandchildren, Autumn, Macie, Mosley and Swayze Pepper, Luke, Samantha and Charlotte Saldana, Trace and Trathan Taylor and Aubrey, Avery and Ayla Taylor, three sisters, Sue (Wendell) Talley of Nashville and Ann Burch and Connie Tate both of McMinnville and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his numerous caregivers, including Shelly, Peyton and Whitney of Fresenius, Adoration Home Healthcare and Brittany DeJong.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in High's Chapel with Chris Pepper officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 11:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's.

Full military honors will be administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173
