Derrick Dewayne Johnson, 43

McMinnville resident and Birmingham, Ala. native Derrick Dewayne Johnson, 43, was born Jan. 25, 1983 and died March 11, 2026 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. 

A cook with Wendy's and a member of the Westwood Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Robert Brown and Danita Annette Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Eric Kimball. 

Mr. Johnson is survived by his children, Donnivin Johnson of Sparta, John Princeton of White Co., Trevor Jordyn Hendricks of Gainesboro, Cheyenne Johnson of Sparta and Olivia Jean Johnson; fiancé, Kasey Estes; step-sons, Jakota and Jakobi Estes; brothers, Kenneth Johnson, Billy O'Neal and Michael Johnson; nieces and nephews, Jaela Heard, Josh and Jalen Heard; mother of his children, Chasity Poss; sister, Christy Poss, "mom", Sharon Borges; father-figure, Doug Poss; aunt, Barbara "Boomie" Thrower. 

Per his wishes, Mr. Johnson will be cremated.
