My name is Bill Templeton, and I am running for White County Commissioner in District 2. I have lived in Sparta since 1991, and I am proud to call this community home.
My roots in this area go back even further, with family ties in both the Bone Cave and Laurel Creek communities in Van Buren County.
I recently retired from THK Rhythm after nearly 24 years, where I began as an initial production supervisor during the plant’s startup and finished my career in supply chain management. Earlier in my career, I worked as a machinist and tool-and-die maker, and I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1981. I also briefly drove a school bus for the White County School System.
Today, I remain active in the community. I serve as a trustee for Long Cemetery in Van Buren County and as a deacon at Gum Springs Baptist Church in Walling.
At the urging of several people and after attending county commission meetings, I began to take a closer look at how things are being done. Through that process, I noticed areas that I believe need attention, including commissioner attendance policies and hiring practices.
While this is my first time seeking public office, I believe my background and managerial experience have prepared me to serve. I am committed to working for the citizens of White County and helping refine areas where improvements can be made.
I respectfully ask for your support and your vote in the upcoming election.
